As this year comes to a close I thought I would take a look back, once again, at the events of the year in the Volker household.

January 2009: Steven and Courtney welcome their new niece, Hollis, bright and early on the first! // Courtney has the honor of being a bridesmaid for Kimberly as she marries Steven!

February 2009: Steven and Courtney have their first Valentines Day as a married couple (and their first Valentines date in several years). Dinner was at The Mint.

April 2009: Courtney looses her job due to company downsizing.

May 2009: Steven and Courtney travel to VA for Jess's graduation! // Courtney's cousin, Jennifer, gets married in TN. However, they are unable to attend.

June 2009: Courtney goes on vacation with her family while Steven is in training. // Steven's sister, Liz, marries Quinn on June 28th! // Steven receives a promotion from Private First Class to Specialist!

August 2009: Courtney gets a new job. (Not in her field but hey, it pays!)

September 2009: Steven starts school again, getting a degree in Criminal Justice online from Liberty University.

November 2009: Steven and Courtney take a (much needed) vacation to Gaitlinburg, TN. // Steven and Courtney have their first Anniversary!! // Steven has a minor motorcycle accident that causes expensive damage. The insurance company declares it as totalled.

December 2009: Steven and Courtney travel to GA for the holidays. // Courtney's cousin, Stephanie, marries Jacob on December 20th! Courtney has the honor of playing the piano for the prelude and ceremony. // Steven starts his (seemingly never-ending) search for a new car.

Now that I read it over I realize we have had an eventful past two months! Hopefully these next few will be less crazy. We have certainly had a very interesting and hard year. But God has been good and kept us alive, healthy, and somehow with enough money to pay all our bills. At least now we know that we have the ability to work through trying times, and enjoy good times. We look forward to seeing what God has in store for us in 2010 as we embark on new military adventures. Thank you to all our family and friends who support us! Here's to a new year and new adventures!
